| (more)Sounds like: A jerky blend of Funk, Rock N Roll, Reggae, Ska and Blues. Paul Vidito – Guitar & Vocals Paul grew up in a musical household in rural Antigonish, spending most days in his basement bedroom with his ear glued to the old record player. He was trying to figure out what Neil Young was playing in the solo to Down By The River or how Bob Dylan worded his songs in a way that provoked such imagery. From there, Paul began writing his own songs and making his own solos, recording them on TDKs in his old beat up Tascam four track recorder. After kickin' around a few small towns, writing hundreds of original songs and not really finding any legit band mates, he decided to enroll in the Recording Arts Program at NSCC, graduating in 2005. It was in that program where he met and became good friends with Ed McGlogan. Ed introduced him to close friend, Peter Amyoony. The boys began to jam. Right away something clicked and the chemistry was undeniable. Ed McGlogan - Bass & Vocals Ed has a passion for music. He has been performing and writing music for the past fourteen years. He started at the Royal Conservatory of Music where he honed his skills on the classical guitar. With music theory under his belt he continued his music career in high school bands (By Circumstance) and later with solo and group performances in university with bands such as Slow Grinding Machine and Braumeister. Having recently completed the Recording Arts Program at the NSCC, Ed has now taken the reigns as the bass player with The First Class Jerks. His groovy bass lines compliment this trio’s high energy performances. As an integral part of The First Class Jerks, Ed is excited to bring his knowledge and creativity to the forefront of their future shows and projects. Peter Amyoony – Drums & Vocals Throughout his life, Petey has learned to play a multitude of different instruments and has always had a deep respect for music of all genres. His performing roots were first spawned as the bass player for a local Halifax cover band know as Off The Dock (aka The Brothers Belvedere) - playing for parties, special events and harbor cruises. Only in 2006 did he start to focus on playing the drums in a band called Troubled Wine, formed by the current members of The First Class Jerks. Petey’s techniques as a drummer continue to grow in leaps and bounds along with the love of performing and singing original material with this deadly trio. And there you have it - Three First Class Jerks, brought together in harmony at last! |
