Steve Anthony BELVILUS Drummer. BIOGRAPHY Steve Anthony Belvilus is one of the most talented drummer in the Big Apple. He has Been noticed by several artists (Cecile Bridgwater , Mark Soskin, Jacques Schwarz bart…etc) and they say that “he has a great career ahead of him”. Steve has just started working on his own project _ he has played with his septet at Cleopatra needle recently (featuring Jacques Schwarz bart tenor saxophone). In addition to that he is the drummer of the pop band “Skyfactor” they have just released their album at the Cutting Room. Steve Belvilus worked with pop singer Kimberly West in her project , with Joeworn Martin . He has also played at several venues : Cleopatra Needle (steve belvilus jazz quartet) ,Joe’s club , D’ Antigua , The StartDelight with Kimberly West ,The Pussy Cat lounge with Haveblue (Pop rock) , The Perk’s etc with various american artists and in various styles such as Ambrose Buyu ( Afro- Jazz Music), Shareef Clayton (rock-funk band ) , Cecil Bridgewater and Mark Soskin at the Manhattan school of music, Eric Lewis, Reggie Washington, Ambrose Akinmusire Jam session at the Cleo Needle . In addition to that he has already had several impressive musical performances, especially in Europe notably with Alain Agbo, Tantelie Ramboloson (musicians of Miriam Makeba),who said “this drummer has a unique groove” .In 2004 the British singer Hugh Coltman, asked him for playing with Heez Bus; one of the most well-known neo-soul rock bands in Paris. With this band, Steve A. Belvilus toured in Paris and the south of France. In addition, they performed live on Nova Radio a few days after Roy Hargrove's RH Factor. Steve A Belvilus also worked on the Paris jazz scene; he performed with Marc Benhamou Trio at Caveau des Oubliettes club and with the Sorbonne University Big Band in 2001 conducted by Nicolas Folmer and Laurent Cugny . He was six when he started to play at the Baptist church of his father. Steve is currently at the prestigious Manhattan school of music. He has studied Drums at Armand Siobud School from which he received an award in 1998 and in France at the Sorbonne University and Conservatoire national d`Aubervilliers.
