Simeon Flick is a heritage artist on the rise. With an unbeatable combination of raw natural talent (perfect pitch, adroit musicianship), educated refinement (a degree in classical guitar performance), and with an illustrious 15+ year career behind him (having shared the stage with No Doubt, Sublime, Fishbone, The Untouchables, School of Fish, The Samples, The Skeletones, Excel, Voodoo Glowskulls, Geggy Tah, Matt Nathanson and Leftover Salmon), he is also one of San Diego's best kept secrets. However, with two solo albums and a continuing string of memorable live performances now under his belt, this distinction won't last long.

First, there's the virtuosity, the sonorous tones and guitar-hero dexterity that could easily rejuvenate the lost art of the guitar solo, coupled with the prodigious musicality that manifests itself in unusual standard-tuning chords and a unique--if not utterly revolutionary--musical vision.

Then there's the voice--an impassioned, soulful four-octave force of nature that oozes emotion and bristles with an insatiably playful urge to push all the limits and preconceptions of range and style.

Then you will be taken aback by Mr. Flick's erudite, poetic, and utterly unique spin on the usual lyrical fare--love, relationships, politics and mortality--and brilliant twists on unusual subjects.

And finally there's the music itself, which through accessible innovation strives to stake out whatever new terrain remains on the seemingly barren tract of modern pop. There's a disparate and wonderful blend of styles, everything from folk-jazz and rhythm & blues to alt-country and alternative pop. Simeon's music ultimately transcends this casual labeling, however, by exuding its own erstwhile, timeless spirit.

Simeon's versatility has flourished in numerous professional scenarios. He has sung on commercial jingles for Mattell and the San Diego Union Tribune at Singing Serpent studios, and has played one or more instruments as a session musician on releases by the Enchanted, Lee Tyler Post, Eddie Elliott, Howard Hello and others. He's played guitar, bass and drums in a variety of professional situations, and has been published in transcription books (Stone Temple Pilots' debut album, Core [Amsco]) and local music magazines (The San Diego Troubadour). Two songs that he co-wrote while with the band Sages Of Memphis were featured on MTV's Road Rules ('Senorita' and 'Butterfly').

Simeon currently stands poised on the cusp of inevitable acclaim and praise with his newly released album, 'Indigo Child', a sonically lush parade of visceral dynamics, rich timbres and a seamless blend of disparate genres. His mission is to sustain his life through touring and performing, live and on radio, in symbiotic support of his recorded art.

Simeon Flick is a rising artist with a long career in front of him, someone who does it well and for the sheer joy of it, someone worth watching in the glutted ocean of signed and unsigned artists. It is only a matter of time before you hear about him, and are eventually, inevitably, sooner or later, won over.
