Stuck in suburbia? Stay away from television (if you can), hidden agenda’s, war, RadioDazed avoids it all, and does so on their own terms. You might laugh, you might cry, you might drink beer (or not) but you will have fun. RadioDazed is a very unique, entertaining band from Ottawa, Ontario with a simple message. The message is that people fight for things they believe in. It is human nature that we as people do things because we enjoy or feel a connection to it, not because we are told to.

Many bands have things to say and a voice wanting to be heard. Music provides that platform for RadioDazed. Many of RD’s songs deal with individuality. There are songs that critique society by looking at issues like the image people are force fed by mass media like television. Historical concerns, anti war issues, blunders with money, and even being purposely mislead by a friend or other businesses and institutions are just some of RadioDazed dominant themes. Through the music of RadioDazed, one shares a sense of passion for many aspects of the arts. With university degrees in history, film and theatre, music is not the only aspect the band’s success but serves as a major outlet to compliment it.

At a RadioDazed concert one cannot help but get sucked into the live experience and this is perhaps the most important and distinguishable aspect of the band. RadioDazed has an exciting, entertaining and unpredictable (in a good way) live show. Anyone who has seen RadioDazed knows that for them it is all about the music, the good times, the entertainment, and with great audience participation, the fans. RadioDazed is a band that loves to perform bringing across a great love of music and performance.

Formed in 1996 in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, which has many great bands RadioDazed, consists of three members, and long time friends Nials Everett and twin brothers Mark and Matt McHale. RadioDazed plays an energetic style of music. With the huge diversity in music today it is hard to pin point their unique style. RadioDazed sound draws from a wide range of music influences such as The Clash, Rancid, Social Distortion, Green Day, Ramones, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and tons of one hit wonders throughout the 70’s 80’s and 90’s. RadioDazed has recorded two independent albums. The first album is titled Pick a Real Career. The second album is currently in the final stages of production will be available soon. It has been recorded and engineered by Jason Dahl and Tim Greene at Distortion studios.

RadioDazed has organized several of their own tours throughout Canada. RadioDazed won an YTV achievement award. They also placed second in both The University of Ottawa battle of the bands in 2004 and Supernova’s “Overdrive Competition” in 2005.

The music of RadioDazed has without a doubt developed an original mix of a melodic and a heavy sound, while still keeping true to the roots of punk rock. Each song is a catchy blend of aggressive vocals and carefully crafted music. More importantly, is that songs get stuck in your head; you sing the lyrics and cannot explain the total euphoric feeling you get watching them live. RadioDazed proves that punk music, while remaining true, can and has extended its borders beyond the common three chord structure. In fact, you will want to request a song by RadioDazed on the radio. So, RadioDazed wants to remind you to have a good time, think, listen and enjoy the show.
