Mar 16, 10 / Classic Rock Boston Band wants Rhythm Guitars

Our yet-to-be-named hard rock cover band is seeking a 2nd guitarist for rhythm, harmonies, sharing some leads/ fills, etc. We are currently one (lead) guitar, bass, drums, and female vocals. Current material is lots of Zeppelin, with some Ozzy, Sabbath, Billy Squier, the Cult, Pat Benatar, and a few others mixed in. We hope to expand to AC/ DC, Iron Maiden, Heart, and much more once we add a 2nd guitar. Drummer and bassist are more classic rock guys (the good kind, not Journey and Eddie Money), singer and guitarist lean more towards harder, darker rock metal. We try to find a middle ground that works for everyone the music - solid groove down below, with some edge and grit up top. We are all in our late 30's, and have played in other bands before - both originals and covers. We aren't hard core pros, but we know the difference between shit and shinola, and are willing to put the time into making it sound as good as we can get it - not just a drunken jam session. Rehearsals are fun and laid-back, but still focused and productive. Good communication vibe is essential. Light drinking/ smoking is OK, as long as it doesn't affect your performance, concentration, or communication. (If you think you sound like Richie Blackmore after you've had a few hits, but you really sound like a Saturday afternoon at Guitar Center, we're going to tell you so.) We rehearse on Friday nights at our free, clean, private rehearsal space in Waltham. We have PA, mics, monitors, etc. We hope to start casually gigging this summer. Contact Karen (singer, and poster) - kmartakos@yahoo.com, or Paul (guitarist) - pooch550@hotmail.com

Mar 16, 10 / Progressive Denver Band wants Singer

I am a guitarist who has started a music project with a bassist and drummer. We have over 20 songs fully written and ready to go. We are in need of a vocalist who is like minded and interested in joining a serious music project and playing live music. There are a few very rough tracks posted online at http://www.myspace.com/bandtorsion . The music that we write is more complicated as far as composition and structure with a lot of off-time beats, minor chord progressions, etc. Musical influences are TOOL, A Perfect Circle, Porcupine Tree, Mozart, William S. Burroughs, etc. If you are a serious singer who is over 21 years of age and who is serious about joining a music project that is ready to play live shows, please contact me at hicks506@msn.com. Thanks!

Seeking dedicated players for a Ska Project. If you have some decent chops, decent knowledge of music theory (or a beastly ear) and are 21 or older (again exceptions will be made for talent) shoot me a message. Ideal players would be music majors, have some interest in writing and be interested in letting the project go where it goes naturally. If we play a few weekend gigs great, if we record a few E.P's great, If we wind up on the Warped Tour like my last band, Great. Seeking the following:

Lead Guitar
Rhythm Guitar
Bass
Trumpet
Trombone
Saxophone
Drums

E-mail with any questions.
