| Pavel Markelov – an experienced professional clarinetist holding PhD degree in performance from Moscow P.Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Russia. Pavel Markelov is the First-Prize Clarinet Winner of the Russian National Competition. Second-Prize Conductor Winner of the Russian National Competition Pavel is a performing musician playing Classic, Folk, Modern music and Jazz on clarinet. He has a vast repertoire and ten years of experience in prestigious concert halls of Russia, Spain, Czech Republic, Korea performing with well-known chamber and symphony orchestras, as well as with the legendary Borodin Quartet. During many years of performance he has enriched a standard clarinet repertoire with his arrangements for clarinet and piano. His program also includes works for clarinet with various ensembles from the masterpieces of classical music to the daring, unique transcripts of the US and Latin American composers. Besides clarinet performance, during the years of schooling Pavel also became interested in the profession of a conductor. Since 1997 Pavel has already worked as a second conductor at the Moscow Youth Symphonic Orchestra, where he prepared the program: “Romeo and Juliet” by P.Tchaikovsky, Symphony №1 by S. Prokofiev and “Bolero” by M. Ravel. Pavel is actively engaged in teaching: he trained Music College applicants in clarinet performance, music theory and piano. He leads Chamber Orchestras and Ensembles, makes arrangements for music projects. |
