Myk was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. He did not have the typical story of growing up in a household filled with musical infulences from other family members. Conversely, it was rather the lack of creative influence that steered him toward music. His father had always told him, "whatever you do in life, make sure that it makes you happy," and "do not expect everyone to support you in your goals." Most importantly, he told him "you have to work hard to get what you want out of life."
