(more)In August 2005 through mutual acquaintances, Matchstickmen formed.
Singer/songwriter Lewis Wright, who had previously been in the
Metal band "Loki", was looking to take a new direction with his musical
career. Lewis was joined by John Wareing and Paul "Probes" Robins,
both passionate guitarists and former members of The Herbal Remedies.

Shortly after, Ryan Johnson joined the band. Initially a guitarist,
Ryan took on the role as a bassist for the first time and
proved a worthy choice.

The band was now complete.

Matchstickmen went on to prove themselves on stage. Bar Du Fay,
Ormskirk were the first to see the potential that the band possessed
and booked them to play after hearing them at an acoustic night.
The band drew in the crowds and had the audience singing along
to songs that they had become familiar with on the band’s Myspace page.

Since then, Matchstickmen have gone on to perform on a regular
basis, in venues such as The Zanzibar Club and Barfly, Liverpool.

The band have also completed their debut EP
“Like Clockwork”, which is being released July 2007.
