The name “Group Therapy” was actually thought of during a band discussion on what name we should call ourselves, when a band member made the comment: “We all need some group therapy”. Immediately, everyone became completely silent and just looked at each other with that “Ahh Ha” expression. That is when we knew “Group Therapy” would be a fitting name for this local band.

Group Therapy’s band members met by one musician knowing another musician, which eventually brought this particular group of people together, we knew that we all had something in common, a passion to do a broader array of music that would offer entertaining and musical satisfaction for any connoisseur of live entertainment.

However, in order to bring this to the public, our marketing strategy had to consist of performing old school R&B, the Motown sound and Smooth Jazz with a funk injunction.

Group Therapy is a show-band with over 200 years of combined musical experience. Our main objective is to take our listening audience on a journey back in time, by listening to those old favorites and then bringing them up to date with the current hits. All done with a unique Group Therapy “Flava”.
