Deere John are a four-piece powerpop/rock band, based out of Calgary, Alberta. We've dubbed ourselves 'prairie-pop for the masses' taking influence from such great Canadian bands as The Northern Pikes, The Waltons, TPOH, and Lowest of the Low.

Melodic and memorable stories for everyman - Deere John are an invititing, though slightly jaded, brand of prairie-pop. A guitar-driven sound with pop flavouring that will bend your ear without breaking it.

Deere John are Kirk Thurbide and Sean Nicholson who have continued on as bandmates since the fall-out of their predecessor Beautiful Losers. In early '08 Ryan Hall joined the band on bass and in March '09 Cyril McKinnon took over as drummer for Deere John.

Influenced from a wide range of artists including Sloan, Weezer, Jason Plumb, and The Weakerthans to name a few, Deere John are a radio-friendly sound that is inviting to all. This is one Deere John you won’t want to leave.
