Posted by Amanda on Sun Jul 31 '05 at 05:56PM Well, I think Curse Icon is number one, I started talking to Kiana on myspace.com, where I became very close with her, her music rocks, and she rocks, They deserve to be the top number one band in this world! Yup thats right they should, Kiana you rock and I love you! |
CAN`T WAIT TO SEE YOU GUYS UP IN THE TOP 10. |
Best music I've heard all year. You guys are destined for greatness. "Awakening" is an automatic hit, and people should buy your album just because of that song alone. I've also fallen head-over-heels in love with your lead singer, LOL. She defines the words "sexy" and "gorgeous." |

| Fans and media have praised Ft. Lauderdale's Curse Icon for their distinct melding of elegantly haunting melodies, captivating vocals, and pounding rhythm. They are a dark-edged power group whose essence is defined by dynamic vocals and rich sonic textures. With a unique style that bridges alternative, metal, and industrial genres, they shine in an otherwise bleak wave of today's prepackaged music. Their songs are melodic and structured, embracing lyrics as a focal point. From the ambitious sensibility of "Broken", to the melancholy surmise of "Down", they have found a niche that sets them ahead of the curve. It's their powerful live show, however, that burns a lasting impression upon the audience's mind. One cannot doubt the passion and power that embodies a Curse Icon performance. They take you from heaven to hell in under an hour. It is high-energy, engaging, and blissfully entertaining. Curse Icon has breathed new life into the South Florida music scene by combining a do-it-yourself punk mentality, a pop sensibility, and and a compelling live show. Drawing on a myriad of influences, including bands like Stabbing Westward, Nine Inch Nails, Linkin Park, Korn, Filter, Disturbed, and Led Zepplin, Curse Icon delivers a kick in the teeth that leaves you wanting more. Put Pat Benatar into a metal blender, pour in some nails, then sprinkle it with daisy petals and you have lead singer Kiana Prestol. She is mesmerizing; bad-ass and sexy at the same time. Her dynamic vocals complement the band's music by adding a refined attitude that is innovative, yet reminiscent of past rock goddesses. Her sensual concoction of power and melody intoxicates listeners while guitarists Sean Carroll and Eric Bernard bring an aggressive assault to Curse Icon's epic sound. Classically trained pianist Leo Farinas serves up an attitude cultivated from the Goth and Industrial scenes, while drummer Marco combines acoustic percussion with a mix of loops and samples in an alluring pulse of rhythm. Together they weave their hard-hitting laments into a tight, cohesive sound. In 2004, Curse Icon was named the Best Local Rock Band and lead singer Kiana Prestol was named the Best Female Vocalist in South Florida's New Times Reader's Choice awards. They are regularly featured on numerous state wide radio stations, including 94.9 Zeta (WZTA) and 103.1 The Buzz (WPBZ). Curse Icon performs throughout the state of Florida in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tallahassee. In December 2004, they were one of the few local acts selected to perform at 103.1's The Buzz Bake Sale with Korn, Sevendust, Nonpoint, The Used, New Found Glory, Story of the Year, and others. Also, in late 2004, Curse Icon submitted two songs, "Falling Away", and "Down" to the peer evaluation Web site Garageband.com where they walked away with a slew of awards including Track of the Week, Track of the Day, Best Female Vocals, Best Melody, Best Mood, Best Lyrics, Best Keyboards, Best Programming, and Best Production among others. Curse Icon is currently in the studio mixing their new CD scheduled for release in June 2005. |
