Some may ask what pain, hope, love, addiction, sorrow, lust, and evil have to do with making music. Four talented musicians emerging from two different deserts will show you. It means everything. Long before the members crossed paths in the fall of 2003, the stories had to be written. Life had to be experienced…hearts had to be broken…chances had to be taken…rules and fingers had to bent and broken.


Three members from Chico who have played music together for twelve years and the newest addition from Pheonix, living in San Diego, eating, breathing, living music. Born Tonight is the product of a relentless unrest and tension within each member of the band as well as each listener. The manifestation is of an undying love for music, to create and to perform, and the constant upward battle to rise above the fecal sea of “music” copied and force fed to the starving masses. The sound created is a beautiful brutality, a vicious soothing of raw and pure emotion, scenarios posed, options chosen, and the ultimate epic resolve. Each song written leaves the listener with a feeling of release, and when seen live can only be described as a complex euphoria of raw emotion, a movement.



Born Tonight is a sound blended of Deftones ferocity, Tool complexity, Dredg mystery, Mazzy Star subtlety, and a hook into the memories and feelings, rekindled when a familiar song is heard.
Born Tonight is hypnotic. A Dark optimism. Whether it’s loud, heavy and distorted or almost silent. Born Tonight’s music is a tasteful expression of melody and energy, . Lustful orchestrations of power and emotion. Honesty comes through in the music, no word or note is wasted on whining, apologizing, or blaming. guitars aren’t tuned down trying to be heavy just for the sake of being heavy.


Born Tonight’s first demo release “Salvation to Some” has continuously received great reviews from respected listeners all around the world. “Salvation to Some” was D.I.Y. every step of the way. Recorded, engeneered, copied, labeled, and uploaded in the front room of The Born Tonight House, where all four members live, and use as an office, rehearsal space, recording studio, and a venue. With the upcoming album “Set To Watch The World Burn” in the works with acclaimed producer Sylvia Massy Shivy (Tool, System of a Down), Born Tonight’s next focus is to tour. With a consistent schedule of 6 – 10 shows a month, and having played nearly every club in San Diego ( SOMA, Cane’s, Casbah, ect.) along with L.A. (The Viper Room, Cat Club, etc.), and some short trips up to northern California as often as possible, the local touring has already begun.
