Thanks Bill for the positive feedback! I didn't realize that people were doing those things(negative voting other songs) just to bring their songs up higher. That's kinda silly, dontcha think? Why not just let your music speak for itself? Oh well, I for one will keep on keepin on and I know you will too. Music will remain a force for the long haul despite efforts to suppress it's voice. Let's keep in touch and we'll look you up when we're down in SD. Til then, rock on Bill!

Bill, these are good points about the ranking system. We are currently working on ironing out the spammers by proposing a system by which we circulate through the list of bands in a city and put them up against each other two by two so that people can vote more comparatively - this will be more meticulous and will rid us from those with hidden agendas ...

Justice,
Thank You for your kind words. It's gratifying to see there are people out there that "Get it". How refreshing...Intelligence and Talent...I listened to your songs and consider it a greater compliment after hearing your creative work. I gave you 5's...because your music is good and the place you come from is good.

I hope the rankings remain good to you. But just a word of caution...particularly about this MusoList site... Unfortunately, there are chronic surfers of this site who go out of their way to penalize your success... hitting you with O's and 1's... just to drag your average rating down to where their rating would remain if they didn't spend all day giving themselves 5's for their pathetic efforts.

These people are not artists or musicians...If they were they would support each other like most of us do... Becasue we know what it takes to rise to the top. We understand what it takes to be an accomplished writer, and what it feels like to stimulate people into thought (pro or con).

So don't be discouraged once your songs do rise to a level of prominance here. The losers will be there with their 0's and 1's ...clicking away... in an vein attempt to make themselves look better.

While they may "look" better (in chart position) ... in their heart they know their music isn't worth the file space it takes up... or they wouldn't have to knock others down to try to build themselves up.

Justice... your are an artist. Wear the badge proudly. Good Luck!

eT,
Yes, that's The Hot Monkey Love Cafe in San Diego. I did a show with Monterey's traveling singer/songwriter James Hurley. Alma is a good person, nice lady, and runs a great operation. I hope to catch Dropjoy there for an upcoming show.

Hey Bill! Is that picture with Miles Davis in the backround taken at Hot Monkey Love Cafe? I'm with Dropjoy and we gig there quite often - cool place! Like your songs ... cool voice.

Bill Farkas began his professional music career as a singer/songwriter at age 14. Playing the Rust Belt of Cleveland, Ohio. While in college, some dramatic events would change his songwriting. At Kent State, a close friend left for class and never returned. A cousin left for Vietnam and never came home.

Farkas wrote about injustice & civil disobedience until he thought people stopped listening in the mid-80's. Farkas observes, "Based on what I see happening in today's world, I think people may be ready to start listening again, " he comments.

By 2001, Farkas had enough of Corporate America. He sold all and moved to San Diego and his true passion: songwriting. His re-entry “Self-Help for a Sick Society” is an edgy collection of relevant, poignant lyrics and driving rhythms. War, White Collar Crime, Drugs, & Pedafiles, are attacked. The new CD was produced by Dito Godwin (Platinum producer for No Doubt and Kiss).

Farkas has migrated from the hard-edge to more of a "troubadour" style. "The Lennon-inspired White Collar Criminal will be the first single. It's timely, angry, and definitely has HIT potential," comments Music Connection Magazine.

Farkas’ dynamic presence, powerful Morrison-esque voice, and interactive high-energy stage show is riveting.

As a member of NSAI, Songsalive, and JPF, Farkas spends time helping new songwriters get exposure by hosting NSAI's Songwriter Showcase in So Cal each month.
