Hello, my name is Robert Besta. I am exploring opportunities and am very interested in obtaining a Bassist position with a group that exhibits high levels of musicianship and professionalism. My primary influences are Rock, Pop, Funk, Soul, R&B, Reggae, Jazz, and Blues. I play both Upright Electric and Fretted Electric Bass.
I offer 25 years professional experience, have a large repertoire, and am well-rounded in many facets of the music industry. Here are a few career highlights:
• Opened for such legendary acts as Steppenwolf (with John Kay), Oingo Boingo fronted by composer and Grammy Award winner Danny Elfman, Matt “Guitar” Murphy of The Blues Brothers and Stax Records fame, with the group Kingfish (including members of the Jerry Lee Lewis Jr. band)
• Owner/Engineer of Sound Works Recording Studio and Live Sound Company. Built Studio from ground-up and personally oversaw the production of over 500 recordings and live events.
• Studied Music at the University level for two years with an emphasis on education.
• Session Musician on many recordings. Wrote and arranged music for radio jingles.
• Bass Guitar Instructor at Liggette Music, a Fender “Diamond” Dealer.
