Still looking ... Montreal Band wants Singer Female singer with style and attitude wanted for rock project (demos on myspace) Hi! I’m currently looking for a girl to take on the role of lead singer for a rock project that I’m setting up. First things first, you can listen to my demos right here: http:/ / www.myspace.com/ zenewproject I am really bad at giving a song's genre so I will abstain any attempts other than simply saying that it is rock. Actually, I really don't care what etiquette gets given to it. It is nothing but music that I personally like. I have something quite precise in mind for the kind of voice that I’m looking for. Actually, the best way to sum it all up would be to say that I want something similar to Emily Haines’ style from the band Metric. You know… a s.e.x.y. (sorry for the dots... the word got auto censored...), relaxed, half-drunk, smooth voice that doesn’t feel like it’s being forced out...! And let’s also just mention that I’m not actually looking for Emily Haines’ sister! Just something somewhat similar to! Heheh! At the moment, I do everything by myself except vocals. Meaning that everything you hear in the demos was done by me alone. I also write lyrics but would like to have a little help from the new singer. So if you do write some, bring ‘em on! If not, don’t worry! I’m getting better at it with time! I have 2 friends who seem to be interested in joining the project. One of them is a guitarist / bassist and the other one is a drummer. But at the moment, I want to focus on getting a couple of tracks ready instead of wasting hundreds on a half-used rehearsal space (can you feel the experience speaking here? ? ? ) Once we get to having a couple of songs ready and feel like we could start doing small gigs here and there, then will be the moment to talk about a rehearsal space and recruiting new members! But for the creation of the songs, I only want the singer and I to be involved. It makes it easier to keep a focused vision of the band and less compromise has to be done. Age doesn’t really matter to me. If it does to you though, I can tell you that I’m 29, that I have been playing guitar for the past 15 years or so, bass for 5 years and fooling around with samplings for a little while. I‘ve had a couple of bands in the past 10 years and I’ve also had the chance to do a couple of gigs here and there over the province!
