Jun 22, 08 Boston Any Musician wants Band ORIG hard retro/aggrsv polit band NEEDS GREAT BASS We are immature, latter-30s (and thereabouts) fine ale enthusiasts w/ good sized, laid-back and free basement space... grit/ hard 70s, punk/ alt, some art/ noise, with retro attitude(though not dated/ rootsy)... similar to the approach of QOTSA or something. We are 2 guitars, drummer and vocals w/ message of informed, non-myopic, no-bullsh*t dissent ...not the buzzkill variety, definitely pissed off, sometimes with humor. Basically a big middle finger in the face of the big fat Left/ Right corporate-government pillage-orgy that is sucking our wallets dry and pureeing our basic rights. We are looking for a creative/ pro-active/ aggressive BASS PLYR w/ cool attitude/ humor who wants to be in a Band more than just another project: record/ self-produce, play out... w/ out major time obligations--rehearse Wed nights. We have no goofy conceits about being superstars, but we believe in this band and we know from early-on responses that SOME people will really like what we do... almost as much as we do. We need a moment-player with a good ear who likes riding the wave --we jam a good amount to warm up and break the tension of playing the same stuff all the time. Diverse influences from classic metal (Kyuss type stuff) to Kraftwerk to Zappa to Zep and Floyd to fusion/ hard jazz... Cure/ Pixies/ T. Heads/ Mission of Burma... on and on... looking for unique added depth in bass. Rehearsals in Marlboro (next to Framingham, ) Wed nights 7:45-11:00 or so. We recorded a few early songs... email for the link... if it sounds interesting, come jam and see what happens... always a good time, the vibe is good, + material is spilling out faster than we can keep up with sans bass.
