ABOUT CHRIS CANNON: I have the ability to write, and produce a song from the ground up. Both lyrics, melodies, and the instrumental tracks. Actually, by the time I get started on an instrumental program, I already have a full song in mind for the track. Now don’t let my programming abilities fool you. Playing drums since the age of five, gigging since I was twelve with young adults, and writing since the age of twelve, this all helps me take my music to a whole other level. But my attitude is that, "Its not about me, it’s about the song. Weather I’m playing a cover song, or writing my own stuff, the song is where it is at. It is calling out for certain things that you shouldn’t fight. Some things are predictable, and some are not. Do this with the format, and contrast that is needed to build a song, or any story-presentation, and I guarantee you a hit” I play piano, as well as bass, and guitar to use as writing tools. “I don’t even use a pen to write words anymore. The words and melody come to me as I record myself, or another artist. When producing an artist, you have to go with their spirit. Don’t try to make them something they are not. Take what they have, and enhance it. Showcase it. If a singer is earthy but wants to do hip hop. That is their desire, so take that, and make it work. Don’t try to make them a thug. If something is real, and convincing, it will sell. It all has to fit. The songs, the album cover, the videos, and to the stage set up. It all has to fit”.
