Musician Wanted
Still looking ... Philadelphia Any Musician wants Band Established rock/pop/ska band seeks reliable drummer If you were brave and cool enough to get past the \"s\" word in the title, you are one step closer to rocking peoples\' faces off in our band. We\'re looking for a younger (21+ though), energetic guy or girl who has enough chops to play punk rock, but who is also rock solid tight. Now, to see if we fit your needs, read our somewhat cleverly-worded, tastefully sarcastic FAQ/ personality test! Where can we play shows if I join Case of the Mondays? Is it going to be all basements and churches? We have been regulars of the Philadelphia circuit for a few years now. We\'ve played everywhere from the Troc to the TLA, Grape Street to the Khyber, the Knitting Factory in NY to the Battleship New Jersey in Camden (We\'re proud to say that we\'re the first ever rock and roll band in history to play on a battleship, decommissioned or otherwise!). No basements or churches in our future. And we\'re constantly getting better offers at bigger and better places. Our booking prowess is respectable to say the least. And our crowd is arguably the most rock in the city. Where have I heard of you before? We were on WMMR\'s successful local music compilation: Jaxon\'s Local Shots vol 2. We\'ve been played on MMR many times, and were played on y100 back in the day. We\'re certain to get some love from the new modern rock station eventually too. You\'ve probably heard our name before from countless grape street promotions plastered all over the airwaves. And your cousin probably raved about us at one point. Why would I want to play drums for Case of the Mondays? !? Isn\'t there some ska in their music? eccckkkkkkkk! The cold, hard truth is that having a 3-piece horn section and on occasion playing fast upstrokes while the bass drum plays quarter notes doesn\'t make us a ska band. Yeah, we\'ll embrace the genre title given to us by our fans and critics, but that doesn\'t change the fact that Case of the Mondays is a ROCK band. Case and point: we kick ass at bars filled with top 40 retards, we get scoffed at by many ska crowds (Not that we don\'t try to win the ska-crowds over. They should love us like everyone else.). Truthfully, the only word that could come close to capturing our sound effectively is karate. We borrow from several sub-genres of rock, mostly ska and pop punk. Basically, we aren\'t writing songs about bananas and all that silly shit. So you guys are straight-edge, right? Don\'t ever ask us that again, unless you want god himself to strike you dead for such blasphemy. Only Motley Crue themselves could take us in a battle of the booze. Seriously though, check our stuff out at www.myspace.com/ caseofthemondays . If you love what you hear, contact us to try out. If not, spare all of us the wasted time, we love what we play and you will need to as well. We practice twice a week in Springfield, PA. We\'re about two songs shy (writing-wise) of being ready to start recording our first 14-track full length album. None of us are looking to drop our day jobs so we can tour the country\'s smallest and most awful clubs and live like paupers. But sure, we\'d all like to think we have a shot at a respectable, easy career in music if we ever end up at the right place in the right time. Email me at jon(at)caseofthemondays(dot)net
