Still looking ... Los Angeles Band wants Rhythm Guitars vox and bass seek drums and guitar We are ready to let our creativity collide with yours to create a new sound. Here are some things we are going for:
1. Taking the edgy sweetness of a band like the Flaming Lips but pump the groove and brown down the tone.
2. Craft timeless hooks à la Michael Jackson and then bed them down on riffs that call back bands like King Crimson or Yes.
3. Truck through a killer verse with lots of heaviness and then burst into atmoshperic exlplosion of layered guitar, synth and samples. Imagine Queen or Genesis meets Warp Label artists or simply look back at Faith No More's "Angel Dust" for a good starting point.
As a guitar player you are likely to have some chops and be an effects wizard. Perhaps you got the back-up vocals or or can even play an MPC or something live. I think the primary thing is that you are bringing something signature to the band that will make your performances memorable.
The drummer is laiiid-back and super musical. Not just keeping time back there. Your presence is to be reckoned with. Perhaps you have some sample triggers and a li'l sound module back behind the kit with you.
Here are some acts that get us off: Daft Punk, King Crimson, Sigur Ross, Van Halen, George Michael, Muse, Peter Gabriel, Robert Palmer, Bjork, Rush, Flaming Lips, Battles, Stevie Wonder, Helmet, among countless others.

Our goal is to get the ball rolling and turn this project into a lifestyle. Neither of us have side-projects right now as our focus is to keep developing our massive pool of ideas. Gigs and a little glory by November? We hope your appetite is as big as ours.
